Biography

Zmaj is a rapper, writer and one of the founders of the Budjenje project, active on the Niš and regional hip-hop scene since the early 2000s.

He began his path in rap in the early 2000s as a member of RBP and later joined Ne isplati se, continuing to build his place on the Niš hip-hop scene. The group released an album in 2008, after which his work entered a new phase through collaborative and solo projects.

That same year, 2008, he and South Side released the EP “Sve i sad”. Their collaboration continued through the Feedback Respect family, including the mixtape project “Uzvrati poštovanje”, released in 2009.

In 2010, he released the solo album “Zmaj – Udri ili beži”, completing an important period of his work up to that point.

Zmaj has also been a co-founder of Budjenje from the very beginning. Launched in 2008, the project first developed through organizing rap shows and bringing artists together before becoming a television format in 2010. Zmaj was one of the creators of “Buđenje”, which aired for two seasons on Niš regional television station RTV5.

After a break of several years, Budjenje was relaunched in 2026 as a contemporary YouTube format dedicated to conversations with rappers, producers, DJs and other people who have shaped and continue to shape regional hip-hop culture.

From his first steps with RBP and Ne isplati se, through collaborative and solo releases and the creation of Budjenje, Zmaj has been part of the story and documentation of Niš rap for more than two decades.
