Biography
Dejan Reljić, known as DJ Munja, is one of the pioneers of DJing and hip-hop culture in Serbia. Active in music since the late 1980s, his path traces the development of the local scene from the first rap parties and vinyl selections to festivals, major performances and contemporary club formats.
His long collaboration with Gru holds a special place in his career: they shared stages and helped shape a live energy that marked an important era of Serbian hip-hop. His work is also connected with Coxless Pair and Menson Benson Sextet, while his vinyl sets, old-school hip-hop and work with live bands continually return to the DJ’s role as performer, selector and keeper of musical knowledge.
In Budjenje #14, he discusses the beginnings of Serbian hip-hop, his collaboration with Gru, festivals, memorable performances and support for young artists.
