DJ Phat Phillie

Filip Ivelja – DJ Phat Phillie is a Zagreb DJ, promoter, collector and one of the region’s most important links between audiences and the global hip-hop scene. Active since the early 1990s, he has connected radio, clubs, concerts, publishing and vinyl culture.

Through Blackout, he presented artists, published interviews and built an archive of regional and global hip-hop. His DJ work is based on deep musical knowledge, collecting and the idea that a selection can entertain and educate an audience at the same time.

On Budjenje, he discussed collecting, turntablism, the hip-hop scene of the 1980s and 1990s, vinyl culture and the DJ’s role in the development of music.
