Jeff Chang

Jeff Chang is an American author, journalist and cultural historian whose work explores hip-hop, race, art and social change. He is best known for “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A History of the Hip-Hop Generation”, which traces hip-hop from the Bronx in the 1970s to its global cultural influence.

He also published “Who We Be: The Colorization of America” and “We Gon’ Be Alright: Notes on Race and Resegregation”, continuing to connect popular culture with questions of identity, politics and community.

On Budjenje, he discussed the history of hip-hop, its role in American society, the culture’s global growth and the intersection of hip-hop and politics during the Obama era.
