Marconiero

Marko Jovanović – Marconiero is a rapper, beatmaker and DJ from Niš, a member of D-Fence and one of the pioneers of the rap movement outside Serbia’s largest cities. From the beginning, his work has been connected to Niš, the demo scene and independent music-making.

The albums “Istinite priče” and “Izgubljene trake”, along with the D-Fence-era song “Pozorištance”, form a body of work devoted to life, community and the authentic identity of an artist outside the center.

On Budjenje, he discussed his musical journey, experiences from the demo scene, collaborations and the challenge of persisting with honest rap made far from the main industry.
