Biography
C Note is a rapper and one of the people who, through his work, has been actively contributing to the development of hip-hop culture in Svrljig and this part of Serbia for years. He is also known for his collaboration with the rapper Chameleon. In addition to music and performances, a special place in his story is occupied by the organization of the festival San Derven, which grew from a small local event into a recognizable gathering dedicated to hip-hop and street culture.
C Note was part of the program for the first San Derven Festival in 2019, when guests such as Specto performed in Svrljig, along with local performers. He returned to the festival as a performer in the following years, and in 2023 he performed together with the cult band from Niš Ding dong....
However, his contribution to hip-hop does not end behind the microphone.
As one of the organizers San Dervena, C Note participates in creating a space where both well-known performers and young authors who have yet to reach their audience receive the opportunity. The festival has been launched 2019 with the idea to promote hip-hop culture, provide a scene for young talents and bring a different cultural content to Svrljig.
Over the years, San Derven has outgrown the classic rap concert format. In addition to music, they became part of the program graffiti, break dances, DJ performances, basketball, skateboard, photography, stands and other elements of street culture. The festival also has a humanitarian character, so hip-hop brings together the community and helps those in need.
Its stage over the years has featured performers of various generations of domestic and regional rap, including Who See, Kandi, Spekt, Infamous I.R.S., Ding Dong, DJ Goce and numerous others, but equally important is the space that the festival gives to lesser-known and non-established performers.
Do In 2026, San Derven reaches its seventh edition, which is especially important for the festival created outside the largest city centers and shows how much continuity, enthusiasm and local support can mean for the development of culture.
This is where C Note's role in hip-hop is best seen. In addition to his own work as a rapper, he focused some of his energy on making space for others — so that performers have a place to perform, audiences have a place to hear them, and younger generations have the opportunity to get acquainted with different elements of hip-hop culture.
From the microphone to the organization of the festival, C Note's story is therefore tied to one of the basic ideas of hip-hop — that culture exists not only through what an individual makes for himself, but also through what he leaves to the community around him.
